Founded in 2000, OTT Industries is a proudly Australian, family-owned company dedicated to keeping miners safe through sustainable innovation. We manufacture high-quality signs and delineators using premium PVC and ASA plastics, specifically engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of Australian mine sites.

Our Research and Development team is currently working on a new range of products made from recycled plastics, which we are excited to be launching soon.

At OTT Industries, we’re more than just a manufacturer — we’re a partner in mine safety and sustainability, proudly helping shape a cleaner, safer future for Australia’s mining industry.

Designed by Locky Winten, the system was conceived during hours of dump truck operation across day and night shifts on various open-cut mine sites in Queensland. Locky identified the potential for reducing risks that drivers are exposed to day and night with the existing delineators and signage products.

Locky could see sustainability advantages and economical efficiencies for mine companies through off-site labour-saving assembly, a fool-proof connection system, durable longer-lasting materials, and rapid installation methods with readily available tools.

OTT’s General Manager, Locky Winten has a long association with safety solutions and extensive experience on mine sites. Key strengths include a commitment to working within Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and practices. Locky started his career as an apprentice Plumber and Drainer then advanced his education and training with a Trade Certificate in Building Construction. Possessing highly diverse skills and wide experience his career has taken him from owner/manager of a successful enterprise in central Queensland specialising in custom built Ute trays and mine spec Ute trays with Roll-Over Protection Systems plus toolbox solutions for mining, agriculture and tradies’ vehicles, to building new office buildings on green field mines and subcontracts with Bechtel Australia managing the operational works on the gravel stock piles.

From 2015 onwards Locky was working directly for the mining companies as a machinery operator in coal and overburden on the coal mines. Locky identified the need for a much-improved delineator and signage system. During hours behind the wheel, Locky continuously thought through the existing problem and inherent risks with the current delineator and signage infrastructure. Over time he conceived an innovative system incorporating a simple, universal pipe joiner (connector), durable post and sign combination that would vastly improve driver safety while providing cost savings through an improved installation process and product durability.

Locky formalised his design concepts, successfully applied for Patents and developed prototypes to present to mining delegates to highlight the safety, sustainability and economic benefits of his innovative system. Encouraged by highly positive mine site trial results and performance feedback from managers at Blackwater and Goonyella, OTT Industries established a just-in-time manufacturing operation ensuring the products are ready to deploy on mine sites when required.
